Nidos fotografų seminare

Rugsėjo 7 d., 40-ajame Nidos fotografų seminare Tomas Pabedinskas skaitys pranešimą Tautiškumo mitai: Andrew Mikšio serija „Disco“. Jame bus aiškinamasi, kodėl šio autoriaus darbai pasirodė nesuderinami su oficialia šalies reprezentacija ir kaip A. Mikšio „dokumentinės” fotografijos tapo simbolinę prasmę turinčiais atvaizdais. Taip pat pranešimas suteiks galimybę pažvelgti į migracijos temą ne tik kaip į fizinės aplinkos kaitą, bet ir kaip į dreifavimą tarp skirtingų simbolinių pasaulio reprezentacijų.

On the 7th of September Tomas Pabedinskas will do a presentation Mythologies of Nationhood: Andrew Miksys’ series “Disco” during the 40th photographers’ seminar in Nida (Lithuania). It will explain why photographer’s work appeared to be incompatible with official representation of the state and how “documentary” photographs became images of symbolic value. The presentation also will give the opportunity to consider migration not only as the change of physical environment, but also as drifting between different symbolic representation of the world.
